A Photographer's Lightbox

Arabesque en Pirouette

Arabesque en Pirouette

I haven’t yet figured out how to portray ballet in a photograph but I’m working on it.  This class was taught by Deanna Seay, Ballet Mistress of the Cary Ballet Conservatory, who allows me to try.  I’m like someone who has just seen his first Major League Baseball game.  I don’t know much about it except I know it’s wonderful.  And really, really hard to do well.

It’s neat how both the foreground and background appear to be in focus! You’d think that either her foot or the background would be a total blur.
